The administration will announce its "final decision" in early June. Until then we will refrain from posting admission related articles since we do not want to have a negative impact on PhD admission chances of the applicants. We sincerely hope that the outcome will satisfy everyone !
I'm really interested in your struggle as I'm considering UvT as my potential university. In fact it seems that it will be my university (research master in economics) yet you have cast doubt on my decison...
ReplyDeleteI think you should keep on discussing the drawbacks of the Research Master and PhD programs at UvT. Otherwise you risk losing leverage. The administration may want to delude you in order to diminish the negative publicity during the period of Research Master recruitment process. I'd not expect its "final decision" to be any different from what it's now.
ReplyDelete@ Carson: Point taken. Thanks to this blog and the efforts of other people who informed higher authorities about the situation, for the first time in our history UvT administration bothered to arrange a meeting to inform its graduate students about "policy changes". Before posting anything new, we would like to hear what they say. The things that we have already written are still there and still true. We are getting more and more attention everyday. We would like to thank everyone for their support.
ReplyDeleteWe have a tiny hope that the administration finally understood where this is going. Regardless of the "final outcome" we will keep protecting the rights of all prospective and current students. We will use every information tool that is at our disposal and we will commit our energy to this purpose. This is only a very brief break. Thank you for your post.
@ adas: Even if we actually win this struggle, it is likely that you will have to do your own struggle in the following years. We will keep posting about new developments. Thank you for your post.
